The Early Intervention Program (EIP)
VICKI SERRANO, M.A., C.P.S. (Certified Prevention Specialist)
(502) 574-6485 or vserrano@sevencounties.org
The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is an evaluated, effective strategy aimed at reducing underage drinking and drug use. The EIP offers brief substance use assessments, parent support/education, and an 11 hour, 4 class education series for teens. This education series aids the teen in understanding how the risk for substance abuse can be genetically pre-disposed, helps the young person focus on what they value as important for their future, and discusses the different types of substances, how they are abused, why they are dangerous, and looks at healthy alternatives.
